Deliveries in general aviation tumble in Q1

Deliveries of new airplanes tumbled by 41% to just 462 aircraft in the first quarter of 2009, compared to 785 in the first quarter of 2008, according to the General Aviation Manufacturing Association. The steepest decline was in piston airplane deliveries, which dropped 55.1% from 399 to 179 units, while business jets dropped by 35.7%, from 297 to 191.
