DOJ antitrust opinion could erode open skies, American warns:

American Airlines is warning that Justice Department efforts to restrict airline alliances could undermine an open skies pact with the EU. American, which is seeking antitrust immunity for its own alliance with British Airways and other Oneworld members, said the DOJ is being inconsistent in its standards. "While DOJ's comments appear to claim that all alliances are equal in their ability to compete for transatlantic traffic, the reality is that some are now more equal than others," the company said in a filing.
