Experts encourage children to get outdoors, be active

Some doctors are concerned that young children today are less active and spend less time outdoors, which could impact their development and well-being, including contributing to obesity, depression, poor social skills, or even aggression and violence. The AAP encourages parents to make physical activity a regular part of family life.
