Supporting NBCT program is key to improving student achievement

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour signed a bill this week that includes full funding for salary supplements for National Board Certified Teachers, and a DeSoto Times-Tribune editorial says it's crucial that the program be supported for teachers and students to succeed. There are 2,897 NBCTs in Mississippi -- the seventh-highest number of any state.
