Charlotte closes security checkpoint for month-long construction

Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina will close one security checkpoint starting today as construction begins on a 2,000-square-foot expansion designed to accommodate full-body scanners. Checkpoint A is expected to reopen on Aug. 7, and additional screeners will be deployed to the three remaining checkpoints to improve traffic flow.
