Iowa man who cannot hear wins scholarship for his leadership skills

Mic Dolan, who cannot hear, will attend Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., this fall on a partial academic scholarship for the leadership he showed while at the Iowa School for the Deaf. "He has a sense of calm and a true spirit of leadership that influences without exerting pressure on other students," said school Superintendent JeAnne Prickett. "All the kids looked up to him and wanted to emulate his level of self-confidence."
