Japan's Aeon more than doubles its Q1 profit

Aeon, one of Japan's largest retailers, said cost-cutting efforts helped the company more than double its operating profit for the first quarter. Aeon, which operates thousands of convenience stores, specialty shops, general merchandising stores and supermarkets across Asia, maintained its full-year guidance.
