Roofs are restored to original Thomas Jefferson-designed style

When Thomas Jefferson founded the University of Virginia, he designed flat roofs that diverted water through gaps in the decking into gutters and cisterns. But leaks occurred, and the roofs were encapsulated under peaks within a decade. However, modern roofing technology will now allow the university to return to that flat design in an effort to restore the intended look.
