Study: Pythons cannot withstand severely cold weather

Hundreds of Burmese python snakes were not able to survive the severely cold weather in Florida last January, according to a study that used radio transmitters and temperature monitors to track the snakes. The findings indicate that the pythons, which are a threat to biodiversity, are not as likely to spread across the state and the country as warmer animal species, the researchers said.
