U.S. launches cybershield program

The U.S. government reportedly has begun work on "Perfect Citizen," a program to create a shield against cyber-attacks for private and government technology infrastructure that is considered critical. The National Security Agency is said to have contracted with Raytheon for the effort, which includes some surveillance of networks. "The overall purpose of the [program] is our government ... feel[s] that they need to insure the Public Sector is doing all they can to secure Infrastructure critical to our National Security," according to a leaked Raytheon e-mail.
