Yahoo! looks to ads, apps and joint ventures in mobile arena

Yahoo!'s recipe for mobile-industry growth combines a stew of advertising, applications and partnerships, Senior Vice President David Ko said in an interview, in which he explains why Yahoo! decided to team up with phone makers such as Nokia and Samsung rather than compete with them. Ko also said Yahoo! has no plans to purchase a mobile-ad firm.
