House panel OKs measure to slash EPA's funding

A House Appropriations Committee panel on Thursday advanced a bill that would cut the Environmental Protection Agency's funding and scale back the regulator's climate rules. "The EPA's unrestrained effort to regulate greenhouse gases, and the pursuit of an overly aggressive regulatory agenda, are signs of an agency that has lost its bearings," said Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho.
