Local laws stall food trucks' efforts

Food truck operators in Pittsburgh are often thwarted in their efforts to grow by local laws that limit the amount of time they can operate from one place and prohibit selling within 500 feet of a restaurant, and the city isn't alone. A study due out later this month looks at local food truck laws in 50 U.S. cities and found the rules are often designed to thwart competition against brick-and-mortar restaurants.
