When responding to a hiring manager's questions, keep your answers to about two minutes or less; pause before responding; and make sure you show you were carefully listening by repeating back the question, advises Dorothy Tannahill-Moran. "You can be the most brilliant person on the planet. If you can't deliver and receive well (speak and listen), all that brilliance will do you no good," she writes.
