Researchers tackle new ways of preventing, treating TB

Adel Talaat, an associate professor of pathobiological sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, is developing a gene-based tuberculosis vaccine that might be more effective than the currently available vaccine. Meanwhile, bacteriology associate professor Michael Thomas is working to increase the potency of some antibiotics against TB and developing new treatments.
