Temporary jobs dominate growth in U.S. labor market

Temporary work has become a permanent part of life in the U.S., according to employment data. Since the recession ended four years ago, the number of temporary workers has increased by more than 50%, to 2.7 million, the biggest number on government records that date to 1990.
