Varieties of hydrangea brighten landscape throughout season

Different kinds of hydrangeas can add beauty to a landscape throughout the summer with their attractive flowers and foliage, writes Steve Boehme, a nursery owner in Ohio. The macrophylla variety grow flowers all season, while the oak-leaf kind can brighten shady areas and be used as hedge or foundation plantings. To ensure these plants flourish, use soil with good drainage and enrich it with peat moss, Boehme advises.
