Erythropoietin, more transfusions don't benefit brain trauma patients

Erythropoietin and more frequent transfusions were not associated with neurological benefits for patients with traumatic brain injuries, according to a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association. The 200-patient study found that outcomes did not improve with a hemoglobin transfusion threshold of 10 g/dl compared with 7 g/dl.
