New DOD plan will connect researchers with global tech advances

The Pentagon is rolling out a plan to provide its researchers access to cutting-edge defense technologies being developed in other nations, in particular providing U.S. researchers with data from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. The database should be running this fall. "We have complete insight into our partner and allies' laboratories, and they have pretty good insight into ours, so what I'm really interested in is using some of the tools of our international structure," said Al Shaffer, acting Pentagon research and development chief.
