Procurement should focus on relationships with suppliers, customers

Clive Rees, the new chief procurement officer at Fujitsu for the U.K. and Ireland, emphasizes the importance of relationships with internal customers and suppliers. "We have got to understand what they want because they are the people with the relationships with the end clients," explained Rees. He adds that focusing on key suppliers and the extra value they can offer, instead of on cost reduction, allows the company to give better offers to its end customer.
