Kroger's $280 million acquisition of Vitacost will strengthen the grocer's e-commerce and home delivery platforms and boost its ability to analyze shopping habits, repeat purchases and pre-checkout decisions, Trepoint CEO Bill Carmody writes. The data from online consumers can be applied to the in-store experience and could spur growth opportunities at Kroger, he adds.
