FDA OKs Nutrasweet's Neotame

Neotame, which is about 7,000 to 13,000 times sweeter than sugar, is not expected to carry a health warning on its label, the FDA says. The product reportedly can be used in baked goods, chewing gum and other foods. Other artificial sweeteners, including aspartame, caution consumers they contain amino acid phenylalanine.
