Food firms work for new food innovations

When the food industry meets next week for the Institute for Food Technology's annual Food Expo, the primary agenda item will be on using technology to increase the safety, nutrition and shelf-life of the nation's food. New advances use technology for such purposes as altering the genetics of some food products and for incorporating nano-biotechnology to measure bacterial contamination.
