Groups push for California construction pollution controls

Public health and environmental groups testifying at a public hearing of the California Air Resources Board called on the board to immediately adopt statewide standards to reduce air pollution from construction equipment. The proposal would require construction equipment owners to install available pollution control devices, upgrade their engines or replace equipment with cleaner models beginning in 2010.
