GIC to set up new hospital with molecular-imaging expertise

The Gujarat Imaging Center is planning a new hospital in Ahmedabad, India, that would contain a molecular-imaging center with a particular focus on nuclear medicine imaging services. "Molecular-imaging techniques are helping physicians to choose suitable medications for a particular patient, predict and monitor the effects of those medications and personalize patients' treatment," said V. Raja, president and CEO of GE Healthcare South Asia. The Gujarat Imaging Center will soon provide a GE cyclotron and laboratory used to produce radioisotope biomarkers.
