N.J. to erect 53 new schools in needy communities

Under a $2.9 billion spending plan, whose funding was approved last week by state lawmakers, New Jersey will build 53 new schools in the state's poorest communities. Nearly all of the 31 areas covered by state Supreme Court's Abbott v. Burke school-funding orders will receive at least one new building.
