Umbilical-cord stem cells could treat liver diseases

Stem cells from umbilical-cord blood may be able to replace bone marrow in treating hepatitis and other liver-related diseases. Scientists from the University of Granada and the University of Leon experimented with rats and found that these stem cells improved histological damage and hepatic function.
