Coalition official talks about progress in personalized medicine

Personalized treatments increasingly are being used in areas other than oncology, such as cardiology and central nervous system disorders, said Edward Abrahams, executive director of the Personalized Medicine Coalition. In an interview, Abrahams called on the government to establish a regulatory system that is favorable to personalized medicine and to offer more funding to studies that focus on the genetic basis of diseases as well as electronic medical data.
