Discussion about United's move helps agents feel empowered

Jack Mannix, president and CEO at Ensemble Travel Group, said the firm recently held teleconferences regarding United Airlines' move to shift credit-card costs to travel agencies. Mannix said the discussions helped agents realize they are not alone and that they have the ability to battle the carrier's decision. "This is an industry that has had to deal with numerous, substantive and frequently onerous changes in the past decade, and retaining a sense of strength is critical to all travel professionals," Mannix said.
