Florida roofing firms benefit from insurer's crackdown on older roofs

Florida insurer Citizens Property Insurance requires homeowners in coastal Florida counties with wind-only coverage to replace damaged or aging roofs to keep their coverage. Also, homeowners with homes that are more than 25 years old must submit proof that their original roofs have been replaced or pay for an inspection. As a result, roofing companies have seen a sharp increase in requests for inspections and roof replacements.
