Bosses should be heroic champions of their workers, fighting on their behalf at every opportunity, writes Robert I. Sutton. Whether it's ensuring your team gets credit for major victories, or simply fighting to make sure they hang on to their free morning pastries, Sutton argues that the best bosses not only fight for their team, but do so loudly and in public. "Bosses tend to be poor judges of what it feels like to work for them. Don't assume that it's obvious to your people that you go above and beyond to shield and support them," he writes.
