Indian veterinarians propose umbilical cord bank for animals

Veterinarians in Chennai, India, are calling on the Indian government to establish an umbilical cord bank for animals, after a pioneering stem cell operation done on a 9-month-old boxer dog with a spinal cord injury. "The creation of this bank will mean that animals will be able to heal faster. Spine and nerve-related injuries can be treated faster, especially for dogs and horses," a veterinarian said.
