Study: MPI accounts for 74% of radiation exposure from heart scans

A study that reviewed medical claims records from almost 1 million patients insured by United Healthcare found that myocardial perfusion imaging accounted for 74% of radiation exposure from heart tests. More than 50% of heart tests using radiation were conducted in doctor's offices, the study also found.
