Producers, animal welfare group agree on hen-welfare standards

An animal advocacy group and the United Egg Producers say they are in agreement on a proposal to require poultry producers nationwide to use "enriched housing systems" meant to provide more space for egg-laying hens. The proposal also calls for adhering to AVMA-approved standards for euthanizing hens.
