Study: Mortality risk isn't affected by obesity

A study in The Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine found excess body weight was not associated with increased mortality risk in obese adults ages 18 to 90. However, severely obese participants with diabetes or hypertension were 1.26 times more likely to die early than were their normal-weight counterparts, researchers said.
