Competing agendas for Mo. Medicaid: Efficiency, expansion

A series of summer legislative meetings on Missouri's Medicaid program began Monday with a briefing for the state Senate Interim Committee on Medicaid Transformation and Reform. Republican Sen. Gary Romine, who leads the committee, said the meetings will include Medicaid recipients, health care providers, hospitals and medical associations. Republican legislators called for an increased focus on cost-efficiency, while expanding eligibility lead the agenda for Democrats.
