FCC commissioners to take up ConnectED initiative

A senior official with the Federal Communications Commission says FCC commissioners are expected later this month to approve ConnectED -- a digital technology initiative proposed by President Barack Obama that aims to provide 99% of students with high-speed Internet within five years. Goals of the program include improved connectivity, training for teachers and encouraging private-sector innovation.
