Fresh D'Lite pegs growth plan to low-cal demand

Fresh D'Lite opened its first fast-casual unit in 2010 in a Chicago suburb and is on track to expand in Illinois with a menu that only offers dishes with 550 calories or less. Founder Paul Chaudury says his 20-year career marketing grocery brands including Marie Callender's, Jimmy Dean and Sara Lee convinced him that consumers' growing demand for healthier eating is poised to spread from their home kitchens to their restaurant meals.
