Global chewing gum market expected to level off after 2015

A decline in the number of teenagers and children, as well as economic woes, are expected to shrink the global chewing gum market, according to Leatherhead. Overall, analysts at Leatherhead say the market grew 14% in 2012 from 2008 and should surge another 15% by 2015. However, growth is expected to moderate "following static or falling consumption levels in certain parts of the world," said Leatherhead's Jonathan Thomas.
