The latest versions of Jelly Bean are finally topping the Android operating system charts, supplanting Gingerbread's 34.1% share as older versions lose steam. Jelly Bean 4.1 and 4.2 sit atop the chart with a combined 37.9% share. "While this is certainly good news, we have to emphasize that Google recently tweaked its algorithm in regards to how it counts users for these figures," Emil Protalinski writes. But the news nonetheless gives developers a better idea of which version of Android to target, he adds.
