MOVE! program benefits overweight, obese veterans

Overweight and obese veterans who still followed the Veterans Health Administration's MOVE! program after three years lost 1.3% of their weight, while those who were more active -- attending at least eight sessions in a six-month period -- lost 2.7% of their body weight, a study indicated. Veterans with diabetes were more likely to participate in the program than those who did not have the disease, researchers reported at the ADA 73rd Scientific Sessions.
