NPs give primary care in small farming town

The tiny southeast Missouri farming town of Puxico is served by a family practice clinic of physicians and nurse practitioners who treat patients who otherwise might not have access to care. The clinic's two nurse practitioners provide urgent care and visit a nursing home and residential care facility. NP Kimberly Te says she spends time explaining medical issues to patients, such as "how smoking complicates the disease process."
