Social media marketing pays off, researchers say

Social media provides a return on investment of about $5 for every $1.50 spent, according to a study by the U.K.'s Internet Advertising Bureau. About 80% of consumers said they would be more likely to buy a brand's products after viewing its social media activities, and researchers also found a significant increase in positive brand sentiment following exposure to brand-related social media content.
