Solar plane completes historic flight as pilots prepare for bigger fete

The pilots of a solar-powered airplane completed their history-making cross-country flight on Sunday, landing safely at New York's JFK airport roughly two months after leaving San Francisco. The transcontinental trip will be the last for the "Solar Impulse," which has 12,000 solar cells and four propellers. Its creators are working to complete a newer model, in which they will attempt the first solar-powered around-the-world flight.
