Survey looks at parents' knowledge of cancer risks tied to CT scans

Fewer than 50% of 472 parents with a child who was treated for a head injury said they knew that computed tomography scans can raise their children's lifetime cancer risks, according to a Canadian study in the journal Pediatrics. After being informed about the risks linked to CT scan use, 70% of the respondents were still willing to have their child undergo a CT scan.
