Energy Dept. awards $12M grant for nuclear energy study

The Department of Energy has awarded the University of Notre Dame a $12 million grant to develop advanced nuclear energy systems. The four-year grant designates the Notre Dame program as an Energy Frontier Research Center, which will focus on developing a system that creates less nuclear waste while providing more energy.
