Specialty food on track to hit $100B in 2015

Specialty food sales could reach $100 billion in 2015, according to Mintel International and Spins. The fastest-growing categories from 2011 to 2013 were nut and seed butters, eggs, frozen desserts, ready-to-drink tea and coffee, yogurt and kefir, and chips, pretzels and snacks. Over the same period, specialty food sales rose 15.9%, triple the growth of the overall food and beverage market.
