Campbell tries again in Russia, China

Campbell Soup Co. tried to penetrate Chinese and Russian markets in the 1990s but ran up against a cultural bias against ready-to-eat soups. Now the company is trying again, but instead of marketing finished products, it will try selling broths and "starter soups" designed to appeal to consumers who prefer to cook their own soup.
