Interpublic creates new umbrella unit for media

The Interpublic Group is reorganizing its media shops into one sweeping unit, which will be helmed by Nick Brien, who has served as Universal McCann's chief executive and recently led a task force to make Interpublic's media operations more efficient. The new unit, Mediabrands, will encompass shops including Initiative, Magna, Magna Trading, J3, Universal McCann and Wahlstrom, along with the holding group's Emerging Media Lab.
