New treaty affects air safety between Europe, U.S.

A new trans-Atlantic treaty, known as the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement, lays down extensive changes to air safety arrangements between the U.S. and Europe. The pact will have its first impact on the exchange of foreign aircraft ramp inspection data and will extend the reciprocal acceptance of certificates issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency.
